coordinating wardrobe

So, before you show up to your photo session another thing you need to know is information about your outfits.

Wardrobe colors – neutrals, peach, white, tan, beige, gray, champagne, rose!

More solid colors! (no super dark or bright colors, no busy shirt with words or graphics - BIG NO!)

(unless talked about other wise)

INDIVIDUAL:

If you are doing a portrait session with just you then you don't have to worry about matching but keep in mind about the color of your outfit. Make sure it is more of a neutral or light color because if you wear a color too bright and crazy color it can reflect onto your skin and change the color of your natural skin tone.

COUPLES:

For couples be sure to find outfits that match and go well together. Make sure one is not way fancy and the other too casual. Also, color is important too when it comes to couples. You want to make sure you both match not only style wise, but colors go well together.

FAMILIES:

When it comes to families you need to keep in mind the matching for color as the number one because if the colors don't go well together or one person has a totally different color that will throw off the photos and give an unbalance to all the photos. Also be sure that you aren't wearing bright colors either. Make sure they are more neutral or natural colors. For example, in the photos I have here this family did a great job at balancing out the colors and keeping them a natural color instead of bright green or highlighter yellow. It's okay to have some dark colors but make sure it will balance and not have one person in tan or white and the other 5 in dark brown. Yes, the brother sticks out a little more, but the dad has dark pants on, so it helps.

Light Scheme

When trying to figure out outfits I would first think what time of the year the session is in. Winter, spring, fall, summer? When picking outfits I recommend keeping in mind the word “complement” rather than “match.” It can also be a great idea to choose “color-families,” however please make sure the colors are more natural or natural colors and no bright colors, we don't want the bright colors to reflect onto your skin. Any solid light colors like tan, beige, champagne, Lavendar, rose, and etc. are great. Please no bight or all dark colors and no busy dresses or patterns that will be distracting. I love a cute denim outfit as well if you would like to wear denim.

Don’t forget to bring a few accessories if you'd like! Statement necklaces, cute shoes, hats, and classic watches are great ways to add detail to outfits.

Avoid logos please!!!

I love when people wear clothing that can show movement by catching the wind. It adds energy to the photos and is just so gorgeous! I would say if it's a beach session I'd suggest a long dress to be safe.
